About
Melbourne Violin Co is a violinist for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
A violin does something to a room that recorded music can't. Melbourne Violin Co supplies violinists for weddings, corporate events and funerals, playing classical repertoire and contemporary arrangements. If a soloist isn't the right shape for your event, the roster extends to classical duos and trios, string trios, quartets and larger ensembles. Players arrive with their own instruments and equipment, and get set up well ahead of the moment they're needed. Space and power depend on how many people are playing, so that conversation happens once the format is decided.
Watch
The show
There's something a live violin does to a room that a playlist can never manage, and it lands hardest at the moments people remember. Weddings, corporate events and funerals are where these players spend most of their time, working across classical repertoire and contemporary arrangements. They come prepared, with their own instrument and gear, and set up well ahead of the moment you need them playing. The job of matching a player to your event is theirs, not yours. Describe the room and the mood and let them do it.
On the day
How much space and power you need comes down to how many people are playing. One violinist in a corner is a very different ask to a string quartet, so those details are settled after the format is. Their team works through it with you so nothing is a surprise on the day.
Performance options
Start with a solo violinist, which covers most ceremonies and services. From there it opens up into classical duos and trios, string trios, string quartets and larger ensembles where a single instrument won't carry the space. Weddings, corporate events and funerals are all handled, with classical repertoire and contemporary arrangements both available.
