The LED Hulaverse is an activation rather than a show you sit through: a professional hooper performs the tricks, then hands the hoops around so kids and adults can have a go. Workshops are part of it. It suits festivals, corporate events, shopping centres, markets and family days, and there's a daytime version using bright hoops that read well in sunlight. For 15 to 30 hoops you'll want a roped-off area around 15 metres square and two performers running the session; smaller numbers need one. Indoors if it rains.
The show
This one doesn't sit still and watch. Up to 30 LED hula hoops come along, a professional hooper performs with them first, and then the hoops go out into the crowd. Guests spin them, drop them, pick them up and try again. Workshops run alongside, so people who've never touched a hoop get taught properly rather than left to flail. Kids and adults both take part, and adults are usually the surprise. Movement, music and glowing light together give a festival or an evening activation a look that photographs well.
On the day
For a session running 15 to 30 hoops, set aside roughly 15m by 15m, and rope it off if you can, since spinning hoops need clearance and passing guests don't always look. Two performers are needed to run a session that size. There's a daytime version too, using bright hoops that read properly in sunlight rather than disappearing. One thing to plan for: the LED hoops aren't waterproof, so if the forecast turns you'll need an indoor space to move into.
