About

Amanda is a hula hoop act for hire in Sydney, NSW.

Hoops for watching and hoops for having a go. Amanda's ten plus years of hula hoop performance cover roving sets, a five to seven minute feature act, and hoop stations where guests get to try it themselves. There's also disco dance leading to fill a floor, plus hoop and dance lessons for hens parties and team days. Behind the playfulness sits real experience, including curating 180 performers for a major festival. The style is deliberately a bit silly, which is exactly why guests join in instead of just watching. Public liability insurance, a Working With Children Check, police check and current first aid are all in place.

The show

Amanda has been hooping for over a decade and once put together a 180 performer line up for a major festival, so she reads a crowd well before she starts spinning anything. The performance is high energy and the hoop work is genuinely skilled, but she's the first to say she's a bit silly, and that's deliberate: people relax around her, and guests who'd normally stand at the back end up having a go. Corporate function, festival, private party, it adapts. Roving through a crowd, a featured spot on stage, or leading a dance session, the interaction is the constant.

Performance options

A few different services here, and they can be mixed. Hoop stations turn a corner of your venue into a play space anyone can wander into and try. Roving hooping takes the performance out through the crowd instead. The featured act is five to seven minutes of concentrated hoop skill for a stage or a cleared floor. Mixed roving combines hooping with other roving bits for variety across a longer stretch. She'll also lead the dance floor as a party or disco dance leader when the room needs pushing along. And there are lessons, either hula hoop or Pop Groove dance, which work for hens parties, private sessions and team activations. Fire acts aren't offered, by choice.
