About
Mandinkan Meets Melbourne is a world music band for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Jali Buba and Nigel MacLean explore the meeting of kora and violin in Mandinkan Meets Melbourne. Jali comes from a Gambian griot family with a long musical tradition and is based in Malmsbury, Victoria. The collaboration brings that West African string sound into conversation with MacLean's violin, drawing on the two musicians' work with FilmHarmonix.
