About
Dostluk Filia Express is a world music band for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Turkish and Greek songs share the programme in Dostluk Filia Express. The Melbourne group explores musical connections across the Aegean, pairing vocals with bouzouki, oud, guitar and percussion. Soprano saxophone, flute and ney add further melodic colours. Byron Triandafyllidis, Murat Yucel and Alisha Brooks bring the instruments together in arrangements that reflect both traditions. The performance centres on the songs and the cultural connections that can be heard between them.
