About
Electra Strings is a string quartet for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Sydney string players who work both sides of the line. Acoustic when the moment calls for restraint, professionally amplified electric strings when the room needs lifting. Electra Strings scales from a solo player for a ceremony or cocktail hour, through duo and trio, up to the quartet that most people end up booking. Repertoire covers Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi as readily as Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Beyonce, plus screen music from Bridgerton, Star Wars and Disney. Special songs can be arranged on request. They arrive 30 to 45 minutes early to set up and tune, and they'll talk to your planner or venue directly. One firm requirement: the instruments need proper shelter from rain.
Watch
The show
Early arrival, proper soundcheck, then playing that holds up from the first note to the last. The balance gets set before anyone hears it, whether the sound is acoustic or amplified on the night. Classical quartet or electric ensemble, the artistry and the stage presence stay at the same level. And they're happy to deal directly with your planner or the venue so the music slots into the running order without you having to relay messages back and forth.
On the day
Shelter from rain is the one non-negotiable, because the instruments won't survive getting wet. Beyond that, they need to be in the performance area 30 to 45 minutes before the start time so they can set up and tune.
Performance options
Four ways to book. The soloist suits an intimate ceremony, a cocktail hour, a reception or a corporate event. The classic duo or trio works well for medium-sized gatherings where you want the music sitting nicely underneath the room. The signature quartet is the one most people go for, with the full rich sound that luxury weddings and gala events call for. Then there's the electric option, amplified strings played with a lot more energy, which is the pick if you want to actually land an impact at a corporate event or an upbeat reception. Whichever you choose, you get a proper consultation beforehand and a set list built for your event.
