Scars and Strikes is a musical duo for hire in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
Tim and Tiff met in an ABBA tribute show and worked out fairly quickly they should be playing together. What came out of it is a duo covering soul, rock, R&B, pop and country, with a habit of picking songs nobody expects two people to attempt. Tiffany sings and writes, drawing on Tracy Chapman, Angie Stone, Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys. Tim plays guitar and drums, sings, writes and composes. The set runs from Bill Withers and Bob Marley through Laura Marling, Radiohead and Paul Kelly. They read the room and shift accordingly. Sunshine Coast based, playing pubs through to parks, and they'll bring PA and lights or use what's on site.

The show
Tim and Tiff met in an ABBA tribute show and worked out fast that they'd be better off playing together. What you get is two people attempting songs most duos wouldn't touch, across soul, rock, R&B, pop and country. Tiffany sings and writes, pulling from Tracy Chapman, Angie Stone, Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys. Tim is a serious guitarist who also drums, sings and composes, with plenty of band work behind him. They read the crowd and adjust as they go, which is why they work as well in a park as in a pub.
On the day
Simple either way. They'll bring their own PA and lighting if your venue has nothing, or they'll plug into whatever is already installed and use that instead. Both options are fine by them, so it comes down to what your room has. Tell them which when you enquire and the gear question is settled before anyone loads a car.
Performance options
Scars and Strikes book by the set, each one running 50 minutes, and you stack as many as the night needs. Four sets is a full evening. They can bring their own PA, or plug into the house system where the venue runs one and it sounds right.
