Karmen is a musical duo for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Karmen play calypso, soca, reggae and Latin alongside the songs everyone knows, which is a rarer mix than it sounds in Brisbane. The duo run two setups. One is acoustic with light percussion, kept small and warm. The other adds sequenced backing from a laptop, so the sound fills out without extra bodies on stage. Either way they fit into a corner rather than needing a stage, which matters at a cocktail party or a corporate dinner where floor space is tight. The song list stretches from older standards through to current chart hits. Weddings, dinners and drinks functions are the usual work.

I honestly can’t speak highly enough of Karmen– they were absolutely brilliant! They followed perfectly the song-list I provided, and also took some requests on the night. It’s weeks later now and everyone is still raving about how terrific they were. They interacted with the crowd superbly, and ALL guests commented on how great they were, and how they really made the night extra special. Our function went extremely well thank you. Karmen were FANTASIC! They turned up on time (which was really good considering the traffic they had to fight his way through) They were left to choose the music for the night as we had a wide range of ages there and they tailed it to the group just perfect including the sing along with Elvis (fancy dress) he had every one up and dancing by the end of the night. There were numerous compliments made by all that attended. I would recommend Karmen to anyone and i will defiantly use them at any more functions we will have, including river fire next year!!!
