About
R T Souls is a musical duo for hire in Townsville, QLD.
Two lead vocalists out front, guitars electric and acoustic, and backing tracks filling in the rest so a duo lands like a full band. Or strip it right back for something quieter. R T Souls cover ground from Garth Brooks to AC/DC and Lady Gaga to Loretta Lynn, with Pink, Cold Chisel, Fleetwood Mac, Zac Brown, Creedence and a good stretch of 70s and 80s in the mix. Tambourines and egg shakers get handed out, so expect the crowd in it rather than watching. Breaks are kept short. They bring everything including lights, and just need power and somewhere dry. Townsville based. Bass and drums can be added if you want the full band.
The show
Two lead vocalists is the difference here, because it means harmonies and it means the songs a single singer would have to skip. Guitars go electric or acoustic depending on the moment, with backing tracks underneath filling out the low end so a duo hits like a bigger band. They hand out tambourines and egg shakers, so your guests end up part of it rather than watching politely from the tables. Breaks are kept short on purpose. The chat between songs is friendly and the room usually warms up quicker than you'd expect for a two piece.
On the day
They arrive with all of their own equipment, lighting included, which means the stage area gets a proper look rather than sitting under the venue's overheads. From you they need power and a dry area to set up in. That last part matters for an outdoor booking in North Queensland, so if the plan is a lawn or a poolside, have a cover or a backup spot sorted before the day.
Performance options
The standard booking is three live sets with recorded music filling the gaps in between, so the room never falls silent while they're off. Longer nights of three, four, five hours or more can be quoted. Give them notice and they'll organise an original artist recording to play for a specific moment, which is what most couples want for the bridal walk. If you'd rather have the full band sound, bass and drums can be added to the two of them.
