M&J's is a musical duo for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Book the duo or the solo, whichever suits the room. Over 100 songs sit in the book, and since an hour runs to roughly 13 of them, a three hour Brisbane gig will get through 50 or 60. The set is built to follow the night rather than ignore it: easy listening while people eat, then something faster once the plates are cleared and the drinks are doing their work. Van Morrison, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, ABBA, Queen, CCR, The Pretenders, Divinyls, Daddy Cool, The Seekers and even Miley Cyrus all get a run. Tell them in advance if you want a specific song or a mostly up-tempo night and they'll build it that way.
The show
Over 100 songs sit in the book, and an hour of playing works through roughly 13 of them. Do the maths on a three hour night and you land somewhere between 50 and 60 songs. What gets chosen depends on the function. Dinner tends to draw the easy listening end of the book, then the pace lifts once plates are cleared and a few drinks have gone down and somebody looks ready to dance. Say the word beforehand if you want particular songs or artists, or a mostly up-tempo night, and they will shape it that way.
