Highs and Lows is a musical duo for hire in Redcliffe, QLD.
Redcliffe based, and happy to travel. This duo has gigged from Brisbane up to Darwin and back through Central Queensland, which tells you something about how they feel about a long drive. The repertoire moves across decades and styles, played either as easy listening in the background or as an interactive singalong if the room wants one. They also work with kids. For a wedding or another big occasion they'll learn up to four special songs with enough notice. They bring their own PA and need room for a double bass and a few other instruments. Setup takes about half an hour.
The show
You steer this one. The duo play across genres and decades, and the same songs can be delivered two different ways: easy listening that sits under the conversation, or an interactive singalong where the room gets pulled in. Tell them which mood the event needs and they'll pitch it there. Some events want both, quiet through dinner and louder after, and that's an easy shift for them.
On the day
Their own sound gear and PA come along, so there's nothing to hire. What they need is floor space, and slightly more than you might guess, because a double bass takes up real room and there are a few other instruments alongside it. Setup runs about half an hour. Build that into your timings and they'll be ready well before your first guest wonders where the music is.
