About
Embers is a musical duo for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Zali and Rory play guitar and sing, and the range they cover is wider than most duos attempt. Embers Duo work around Brisbane with a setlist that runs from Ed Sheeran and Olivia Dean back to Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Guns N' Roses. Which means a room with three generations in it stays interested. They bring the gear, dress for the occasion, and shift the playlist toward whatever mood the night is heading. Setup needs power and, outdoors, a flat dry spot with cover. They hold public liability insurance and a blue card for working with children. Quiet start, dance floor by the end, if that's how you want it to go.
Watch
The show
Zali and Rory turn up with the whole rig, dressed for whatever the occasion is, and read the room from there. That last bit matters more than it sounds. The playlist isn't locked in before they arrive, so if dinner wants something gentle behind the conversation and the back half of the night wants a dance floor, the set moves with it. Tell them the mood you're after and they'll aim at it. With three generations in a room, having a duo that can slide between Olivia Dean and Whitney Houston without it feeling like a gear change is worth a lot.
On the day
Power and a small patch of floor is genuinely it. All the gear is theirs, and they can squeeze into a fairly tight corner, so you don't need to lose a table to make room for them. Outdoors, they'll want somewhere flat and dry with a bit of cover overhead. Not a fussy ask, but worth sorting before the day, because gear and weather don't mix well.
