About
Dean and The Geek is a musical duo for hire in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
If you never want to hear Khe Sanh or The Gambler again, this is your duo. Dean sings and plays guitar, the Geek is on drums, and they'll go acoustic or plug in depending on the room. The focus falls on the last twenty years with a solid dose of the nineties, and they'll happily wander into grunge, pop, rock, blues and even a bit of Amy Winehouse. Radio hits sit next to songs you'd forgotten existed: What's Up, Wicked Game, No Rain, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Rebel Yell, Ain't Nobody, Fall At Your Feet. Sunshine Coast based. Dad jokes come free.
The show
Loud, daft and hard to sit still through. Two blokes, a guitar and a drum kit, working through songs that get hips moving and filling the gaps with dad jokes nobody asked for. It is a rock and roll night rather than background music, and the fun comes as much from the pair of them enjoying themselves as from the songs. If you want inspiration, you will find some. Mostly you will find a good time.
