About
Dave & Juddy is a musical duo for hire in Gold Coast, QLD.
Acoustic guitar and drums, two voices, and songs from the 60s through to now. Dave and Simon, known as Juddy, have been playing 25 years and also turn up in RetroSteel, Rocked and Loaded, The Band of Blue and The Jacks Band around the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Simon scales the kit to the room: cajon and percussion for a cafe, full drums when people want to dance. The set list leans on singalongs. Lullabye, Brown Eyed Girl, Maggie May, To Her Door, Jack and Diane, April Sun in Cuba, Dock of the Bay. Requests are fine if you email them beforehand. Dave can play solo for a wedding ceremony, either of them for cocktail hour, and the pair for the reception. Weddings, pubs, cafes, wineries, the Ekka.
The show
Big smiles and songs the whole room can sing back. Dave and Simon are both accomplished players who can keep the volume at cafe level or push it to a pub, whichever the night needs. Simon scales the kit the same way, from cajon and hand percussion for a quiet room right up to a full drum kit when people want to dance. Weddings, birthdays, pubs, cafes, restaurants, wineries and the Ekka are all regular work. Got a song that matters to the occasion? Send it through before the day and they'll have it ready.
On the day
Electricity. And happy people. That's the whole list, and they mean it. Simon sizes the kit to the room, so a cafe gets cajon and hand percussion while a pub gets the full drums, and that flexibility means they fit into a small corner or a proper stage without a fuss.
Performance options
Dave can play solo for a wedding ceremony, either of them can cover cocktail hour and photos, and the pair play as a duo for the reception or a party. Outside weddings they take pubs, cafes, restaurants, wineries, birthdays and one-off events, and requests sent through beforehand get worked into the night.
