Chilli Padi is a musical duo for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Rewind the Decades is the pitch, and it's about 80 percent 80s. Guitarist Dylan Pinti came up through Brisbane musical theatre pit bands, original and cover bands, and studio work with independent artists. The list leans hard on Dire Straits, with Sultans Of Swing, Money For Nothing, Walk Of Life and Romeo & Juliet, then widens out to UB40, CCR, Tears For Fears, Tina Turner, Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel, Enrique Iglesias and Michael Buble. Three 45 minute sets. They need two microphones and two stage monitors. Public liability insurance held.
The show
Rewind the Decades is what Chilli Padi call the show, and the balance is roughly four songs in five out of the 1980s. The rest fills in around the edges of that decade. So expect a night that keeps returning to the same era rather than skipping through fifty years of radio.
On the day
Two microphones for the singers, plus two stage monitors so they can hear themselves properly once the room fills up. Those come from your venue or its sound supplier. Everything else the duo needs is their own gear, so this is a short conversation to have with whoever runs audio at the venue before the day.
