About
Butler St is a musical duo for hire in Redland Bay, QLD.
The 90s get top billing with Butler St. This Redland Bay acoustic duo covers everything from the 70s onward, but the heart of the set is that decade of Matchbox Twenty, Blink 182, Pearl Jam and Powderfinger, with The Angels, Queen and George Ezra along for the ride. They read the room rather than force it: cruisy tunes while people eat, singalong party classics once the dancing starts. They're wedding regulars, covering ceremonies and receptions alike, and their PA doubles as the sound system for your speeches. Setup needs a four metre flat space and a power point. Public liability insurance is current.
Watch
The show
Butler St watch the room and play to it. Early on, while people are eating and finding their table, it's the cruisier end of the set. Later, once somebody's started dancing, out come the party songs the whole room can shout back at them. That flexibility is why they work as well at a 21st or a backyard do as at a wedding reception. It's an acoustic duo, so the volume never gets away from you, but the 90s material has enough grunt to fill a dance floor.
On the day
They turn up with a full PA and stage lighting, so your venue doesn't need either. Useful extra: that PA is yours to borrow for speeches and announcements across the night, which saves hiring a separate microphone. From your side the list is short. Four metres of flat, clear width to set up in, and a power point somewhere nearby.
