About
Burning Gold is a musical duo for hire in Bray Park, QLD.
Susie Goulding and Steven Burns are Burning Gold: two harmonising voices, one guitar and professional backing tracks that fill the sound out well past what a duo usually manages. The songbook runs from the 60s to the 00s, all singalong territory. Sweet Caroline. Mamma Mia. Proud Mary, Walking on Sunshine, Down Under, Wagon Wheel. They switch freely between rock, pop and country, and can keep background music running between sets so the room never goes quiet. They bring all their own gear and ask only for cover from rain and a bit of light in the evening. A good fit for parties, weddings, pubs and corporate gigs.
Watch
The show
Sixties through to the noughties, and a duo that doesn't sit in one lane. Rock, then pop, then something country, then back again, depending on how the room's going. It's a friendly, easygoing performance rather than a big production, and the professional side shows in the tidy handling of it all rather than in any fuss. Expect people singing along without being asked to.
On the day
All the gear comes with them, so there's nothing to hire in. What they do ask for is cover overhead in case the weather turns, and if you're running into the evening, a reasonably well lit spot. They carry some lighting of their own, so a little help from the venue is enough rather than a full rig.
Performance options
Between sets is where a lot of nights go quiet. So the duo can keep background music running through the breaks, which means the room holds its atmosphere while they're off stage and you're not scrambling for a playlist on someone's phone. Ask for it when you enquire and it's built into the booking.
