About
Toni Powell is a motivational speaker for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Toni Powell talks about worry, and about how much of it people generate for themselves. She's a TEDx speaker, an author and an internationally awarded voice on workplace culture and wellbeing, and her keynotes lean on photography and short films rather than bullet points, wrapped around storytelling that swings between laughter and something quieter. Corporate audiences have included BHP, Westpac, Allianz and Commbank, and education work has taken her to Geelong Grammar, Monash University and the WA Department of Education. Government departments, councils, associations and conferences round it out. She travels with her own Mac and needs a large screen to do the visuals justice. She holds speakers insurance and an APRA licence for the music she uses.
Watch
The show
Toni pairs storytelling with photography and short films, so what your audience gets is a proper visual piece rather than someone talking over slides. The room laughs. It also goes quiet in places, and there are usually a few moments where something clicks for people. The subject is stress, anxiety and fear, and the intention is that your team walks out handling all three differently, with more resilience and more engagement than they came in with.
On the day
Toni brings her own Mac laptop, and it needs to be on stage with her rather than at a control desk. The other thing that matters is the screen. A large TV or data screen is essential, because the photography and short films carry a lot of the talk and a small display undersells them. Sparkling mineral water is welcome if there's a jug going.
Performance options
Beyond the keynote itself, workplaces often extend the work afterwards. Toni offers follow-up email programs and online video programs that run on after the workshop finishes, so the ideas keep circulating instead of stopping at the door.
