About
Shelley Dunstone is a motivational speaker for hire in Adelaide, SA.
Shelley Dunstone's keynote is called Stage Your Own Show, and it's about achieving audacious goals in the face of adversity. The story behind it is her own. She was a hobby singer who loved Bossa Nova, had never been to Brazil, knew nobody there and didn't speak the language. Then she decided to perform her favourite Brazilian songs in the city that produced them. Three years later she was on stage in Rio with new Brazilian friends. It's a quirky, funny, uplifting way into a serious point about taking initiative now rather than later. Adelaide based, and she works as an opener or a closer for conferences. She'll need a microphone, a laptop and a data projector for slides.

The show
Shelley Dunstone tells one story properly. She loved Bossa Nova, sang it as a hobby, had never set foot in Brazil, knew nobody there and spoke none of the language. A serious heart condition and open heart surgery changed the calculation. Coming through it, she understood that nobody gets forever, and she set herself the goal of performing her own show in Rio de Janeiro. Three years later she was on stage in a historic Copacabana nightclub with Brazilian musicians she'd met along the way. It's funny and quirky in the telling, and underneath it sits a straight point about determination and going after the thing now.
On the day
Slides are part of the talk, so a data projector is needed along with a laptop and a microphone.
