Robert J Elrington's own story is the material. He grew up in an orphanage from the age of five until eleven, spent six years in the Australian Army with service in Malaysia, Borneo and Vietnam, started in business at twenty-five and built serious wealth by thirty-six. Along the way he created the first financial planning company to list publicly in Australia, won national and international awards for selling and marketing, and studied with business figures including Deepak Chopra and Tony Robbins. The National Library of Australia has recorded and archived the whole life story. He was later commissioned by a hospital committee to present his programs to the federal Health Minister, raising money to prevent suicide among medical professionals, and was nominated for the Pride of Australia Medal for mentoring work and for creating Teen Life Coaching. He speaks on entrepreneurship, communication, mentoring and wealth building, and runs workshops as well as keynotes.
The show
Purpose is the thread. Robert builds a talk around what actually drives the people in the room, their values and what they're for, and then works outward from that into the practical: leadership and planning, attitude, marketing and message, selling and communication. The personal side gets equal weight, health, money, relationships, learning. He's spent more than three decades mentoring, and the audiences have ranged from doctors and entrepreneurs to teenagers, so the pitch adjusts to who's in front of him. He's an author as well, and the through line in all of it is a challenge: work out what you're here to do, then accept what it costs to get there.
On the day
Robert works from a room set up for a session, not a stage. Seating for the group, a whiteboard he can write on, and a screen or projector if you'd like slides. Beyond that he's flexible, and it's worth telling him at the enquiry stage how the room is laid out and how many people are coming, because a boardroom of twelve and a hall of two hundred need different things from the front of the room.

There's a full day workshop on moving people from motivation to something that actually sticks, with mentoring attached, and a shorter five hour session run with a group of like-minded people, lunch included.
