About
Justine Martin is a motivational speaker for hire in Geelong, VIC.
Told she would never work again, Justine Martin went on to run eight award winning businesses. That's the short version. The longer one takes in Multiple Sclerosis, cancer and a traumatic brain injury, and what came out the other side: Geelong's Business Leader of the Year in 2023 and Momentum Empowering Woman of the Year in 2024. Justine speaks on resilience, community, positivity, leadership and health, and the talks land because the story is hers rather than borrowed. Her keynote, Resilience in Action, starts with flat-pack furniture and tenth attempts at parallel parking before it gets anywhere near the hospital. Based in Geelong. Justine brings her own laptop and clicker, prefers a lapel or headset microphone, and carries personal liability and professional indemnity insurance.

The show
Justine's talk is her own story, told with candour and a fair bit of warmth. Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, being told she'd never work again, and then a run of award winning businesses on the other side of it. But it isn't only the story. She hands the room practical ways to build resilience, treating it as something you do daily rather than something you either have or don't. Creativity gets a look in too, as a way through hard stretches rather than a nice-to-have. People leave with something to use on Monday, not just a good feeling on the night.
On the day
Justine brings her own laptop and clicker, with a backup of the presentation on a USB stick. She likes the laptop on stage so she can adjust as she reads the room. A lapel microphone or headset is preferred over hand-held. Slides carry a lot of the talk, so a high definition projector gets the best out of them, and daylight or lights up beats a darkened room. A small table to the side works better than a lectern, and closer than three metres to the front row helps the interaction.
