Shane runs Safe Roads For Us, and he builds this workshop around a true story and then hands the room practical ways to stay calm and think straight when the pressure is on. It's interactive rather than a lecture, and it lands with teenagers, parents, coaches and professionals alike. Schools, sports clubs and workplaces all get a version shaped to them, covering youth leadership, wellbeing, decision-making and team culture. Runs in a full setup with mic and screen for bigger audiences, or stripped right back for a small quiet room. Fully insured for public liability, with a current Victorian Working With Children Check and documentation available on request.

The show
It runs as a workshop, not a talk, so the room does some of the work. Shane opens with a true story about how a single choice keeps rippling outwards, then moves into practical ways to stay level and think clearly when things get hard. There are activities through it that build self-awareness and confidence rather than just describing them. Content gets shaped to who's in front of him, whether that's a year level, a footy club, or a room of staff. And people leave with something usable that same week. It tends to stay with them longer than that.
On the day
Two versions, sized to your audience. The bigger setup wants an indoor space with seating for everyone, a handheld or lapel mic once you're past 40 people, a projector or large screen with HDMI if slides are used, decent lighting so Shane can read the room, a table for resources and water, power for the AV, and access half an hour beforehand. The smaller version needs seating in a quiet space, a table, and 15 minutes to set up. Classrooms, clubrooms, community halls and outdoor spaces have all worked.
