From Breast Cancer to Drag Racing is a motivational speaker for hire in Beechboro, WA.
Watch
The show
Andy Kahle talks about drag racing and about coming through breast cancer, and she doesn't separate the two. Motorsport is what she went back to, and it's what she credits with keeping her head straight through the hard part. The talk covers finding a passion, leaning on the people around you, and what that's worth when a family is dealing with illness. She and her husband Mick also run a charity that takes people down the strip as a passenger in a heavily modified car, so the racing isn't a metaphor. Suits fundraisers, community events and school audiences. Honest rather than polished, which is the point of it.
On the day
Andy brings her own laptop and remote. A projector and screen at your end makes the talk work better, because the slides carry a lot of it, and sound better again. Neither is essential though, and if it's easier she can send the files ahead for your tech people to load. Worth sorting out early either way.
Performance options
Andy can turn up in her race gear, which tends to land better than a suit for this kind of talk. And if you're outdoors with the room to park it, the race car itself can come along for a full day display. Say what you've got in mind when you enquire, along with whether it's a fundraiser or a school group, and she'll work out what fits.
