About
Breast Cancer Does Not Pause the Business is a motivational speaker for hire in Perth, WA.
A business owner gets a cancer diagnosis, and the clients keep calling. That's the premise of this talk, and it's a lived one: work done from hospital beds and waiting rooms, through recovery weeks when energy was thin and perspective was sharp. It's delivered plainly, with dark humour where it belongs, and it's deliberately not a medical presentation or a fundraiser pitch. Rooms go quiet in the right places, laugh where they don't expect to, and leave thinking about what would happen to their own business if they disappeared for a while. The standard format is a 35 to 45 minute presentation with optional Q&A, plus a 20 minute version for breakfast events and panels. The speaker stays afterwards too, because the best conversations tend to start once the formal part ends.
The show
No motivational theatrics, no drama in the delivery. It's a steady, honest account of what happens when serious illness lands in the middle of running a business, and what that does to the way you see yourself. There's humour in it, placed where it belongs rather than sprinkled to keep things light. Rooms go quiet at the right moments. People laugh when they weren't expecting to, and sit with some discomfort, and recognise a lot of it. This isn't a medical talk and it isn't a fundraiser pitch. It's a business story told properly, and bits of it stay with people longer than they thought they would. There's time for questions if you want it, and the speaker stays on afterwards, because the best conversations tend to start once the formal part is finished.
On the day
Standard AV for the size of the room, with a microphone. Slides or no slides both work. Where slides are used they're simple and image-led, there to support the story rather than carry it, and they can be sent through in advance. A lectern is fine but not necessary. Water on stage is appreciated. Arrival is early to check the sound and make sure things run cleanly, and there's nothing technically complicated to organise.
Performance options
Two formats. The standard presentation runs 35 to 45 minutes and suits business events, chambers of commerce and professional groups, with optional Q&A. The short format condenses the same story into 20 minutes for breakfast events, panels and multi-speaker programs. Travel outside the Perth metro area can be arranged.
