About
Smart Caroline - Music Trivia Game Show is an MC for hire in Buderim, QLD.
Music trivia, played live rather than off a laptop. Smart Caroline puts two teams head to head with three representatives up the front each round while the rest of the room heckles. Classic songs are performed live, not streamed, and the buzzers are kazoos. Song Pong has the crowd throwing ping pong balls into cups, and every landed shot buys their team another clue, each one less obscure than the last, until somebody cracks the song. Play it by Ear asks the teams to name a famous melody, riff or bass line as it is played in front of them. Buzzers, scoreboard, PA and microphones all come with the act. Based on the Sunshine Coast.
The show
Two teams go head to head, and each round sends three representatives to the front while everyone else watches and barracks. Two rounds get their own rules. In Song Pong the crowd throws ping pong balls into cups, and every ball that lands earns a slip of paper with a fresh clue on it, passed forward to the reps. The clues start obscure and get easier until one team finally names the song. Play it by Ear is the other: a famous melody, riff or bass line is performed live in front of the room, and the teams have to say what it is.
On the day
Buzzers, a whiteboard for the scores, a PA and microphones all arrive with the act. Tables and chairs are worth checking on your end, along with prizes for the winning team. If you can't cover those, they can be arranged, though it does add to the cost.
