About
Richard Hansen Emcee/Compére/Auctioneer is an MC for hire in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
Richard Hansen keeps events running on time and makes it look easy. Based near Noosa, he works as a conference and event MC, announcer and compère, and holds a chattels auctioneer licence, which makes him useful at gala dinners and fundraisers where the auction is the part that has to go well. Business and industry conferences, networking nights, community events, show balls. The preparation happens before you see him: research, consultation with everyone involved, and arriving well ahead of time. He describes himself as a servant of the organisers, and runs the room accordingly.

The show
Richard hosts and facilitates. Conferences, networking nights, community events, gala dinners, fundraisers and show balls are the regular run. Most of the work happens before you meet him: research into the event, gathering whatever he needs to be across the detail, then arriving well early to talk to everyone who has a hand in making the day run. On the day he introduces speakers and performers properly, keeps the audience pointed at why they're there, and handles the unexpected with a dry sense of humour. He'll tell you his job is to serve the organisers, and he means it.
