About
Mariana Verna is a jazz duo for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Warm at the low end, powerful when the song asks for it. That's the voice Mariana brings to a Brisbane room, singing jazz and contemporary material as a duo with either piano or guitar behind her. The pairing suits places where a full band would swamp the conversation: a wedding ceremony and drinks, a restaurant, a corporate evening, a funeral where the music needs to sit gently under the day. Blues, soul, funk and R&B all sit inside the repertoire alongside standards from the twenties through to the seventies. Two players, plenty of range, and no wall of sound to talk over.
