Lachlan Alexander

Almost nothing, as it turns out. If you're booking Lachlan Alexander with a band or another player, all that's needed is power for the amps. No stage requirements, no house PA to organise. That makes it an easy act to place at a venue that isn't built for live music, so a restaurant, a gallery or a function room with one powerpoint and no infrastructure works fine.

There's more than one kind of jazz on offer here, and they don't all sound alike. Gypsy jazz is the swinging, string-led end. Traditional jazz goes back further. Modern jazz, bebop and blues each take the night somewhere different again. Some of these need different instrumentation to do properly, so the line-up follows the style rather than the other way around. Worth saying which sound you're after when you enquire, or describing the room and letting him suggest one.
