About
Trali-Vali is a folk band for hire in Mordialloc, VIC.
Here's an idea you don't hear often: take a Russian song and an English song that share a tune or a theme, and fold them into each other. That's what Trali-Vali do, and they clearly enjoy it. The Melbourne band moves through pop, rock and roll, folk, country and disco, played on guitar, balalaika, keyboard and percussion. Down Under, Putting On The Ritz, Highway To Hell, Rasputin, Those Were The Days and Bad Romance all turn up, twisted together with Russian folk and pop. They can run a dance party too, with their own MC. Street festivals, cultural events, private parties and weddings that want a bit of Slavic flavour. They hold public liability insurance.
Watch
The show
The band's trick is folding Russian and English songs together into combinations that catch guests off guard and then get them grinning. It's playful, and it works on a mixed room where only some people know the Russian material. Trali-Vali can also run a dance party for you, with an MC of their own on hand to keep it moving.
On the day
The band needs 5 microphones with cables and stands, plus a keyboard input and two guitar inputs. If your venue has that gear already, it makes for the simplest arrangement.
