About
Carousel is a folk band for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Traditional Russian, Ukrainian and Cossack songs, sung the way they're sung at home. Carousel are Melbourne's Russian folk group, performing at fairs, festivals and cultural celebrations across the city. Voices carry the show, with backing tracks underneath, and the group suits any event after genuine folk tradition rather than a covers set. European and Jewish music sit in the repertoire as well.
On the day
The group sings to backing files, so the venue side is mostly about sound. Five microphones at minimum, speakers to run them through, and a way to play the backing tracks from. If your venue already has a system that covers all of that, say so when you enquire and there's very little else to organise.
