About
Marnie Lane is a fire performer for hire in Noraville, NSW.
Marnie Lane has spent years across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe learning, teaching and passing on the fire arts. The show is multi-prop: contact staff, double staves, dragon staff, poi, hoop, fire eating, with the option of big fire effects for a finale. It can rove through a crowd, sit ambient in the background, run as snappy short sets or build to a proper stage show, and bubble work can be added for daytime crowds and kids. Marnie can perform to a live band or bring a soundtrack. A solo performer needs about three metres square, up to four performers need five by six, and an indoor ceiling should be three metres or more. A green room and somewhere close to load in make the day easier.

The show
Fire holds a crowd in a way very little else does. Marnie's performers work with contact staff, double staves, dragon staff, poi, hoop and fire eating, and the show can be built around your event rather than dropped into it. A meet and greet at the entrance means guests arrive to fire and get their photos before they're even inside. Ambient fire suits a tight space or a night where you don't want the entertainment taking over. Snappy sets run short bursts to the venue's own music, props rotating so it stays fresh. And a choreographed stage show is the version that stops the room.
On the day
Three metres by three for one performer, five by six for a group of up to four. If you're indoors the ceiling needs to be at least three metres, and higher is better. They'll also want a green room, parking close by, and somewhere sensible to load in and out if the parking isn't near the performance space. Worth sorting these early with your venue, because fire gear is bulky and the space matters.
Performance options
The four fire formats are meet and greet, ambient fire, snappy sets and a multi-prop stage show, and each booking includes fire safety. They combine well: ambient fire through the earlier part of the night with a high impact show as the finale is a common shape, as is snappy sets building to the same thing. There's also non-fire work for daytime crowds and kids, with roving bubble characters and a bubble play space, and those pair happily with a short fire show later on.
