About
Studio Heidi - Live Illustration is an event services business for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Heidi sketches your guests live, in real time, and they take the drawing home the same night. It works at weddings and at product launches for much the same reason: people love watching themselves being drawn, and the queue that forms becomes part of the entertainment. Eight to ten sketches an hour is the usual rate, the couple included, and she's happy to stay for the whole event. She arrives early to set up, photographs guests as they come in, then works through the night with everything ready for collection at the end. A table around two metres wide and a chair are ideal, though she can bring her own, along with lamps if the lighting is dim. Melbourne based. Calligraphy can be added. Insured.
The show
Heidi turns up ahead of the guests and gets her station ready. As people arrive she photographs them, then settles in and draws through the evening. The sketches are finished and waiting to be collected before the night wraps up, so everyone leaves with theirs in hand.
On the day
A table around two metres across plus a chair is the ideal, though she can bring her own if the venue can't spare them. Decent light helps, and she carries lamps for rooms that are dim. Everything else on the table is hers.
