About
Woodsmoke is a cover band for hire in Perth, WA.
Blues with the grit left in, rock that leans hard on the guitar, and enough R&B in the mix to keep the room swaying. That's the Woodsmoke recipe. The Perth band is built from players with decades of gigs behind them, and it shows most in the material they pick: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Marcus King, Dire Straits, ZZ Top, Steely Dan, Deep Purple, John Mayer and the Doobie Brothers all turn up across a night. Sultans of Swing sits beside Tennessee Whiskey. Tush follows China Grove. The band carries several different set-ups, so a small bar and a big room both work, and they'll talk through which one fits your space before anything is locked in.
Watch
The show
Smooth blues, rock and R&B, played by some of the better musicians working in Western Australia. That's the whole proposition, and Woodsmoke don't dress it up beyond that. The playing is the thing people come away talking about rather than any gimmick around it, and the three styles blend across a night instead of being kept in separate boxes. Expect a set that leans on feel and groove more than volume.
On the day
There isn't one fixed rig. The band carries several set-ups sized for small, medium and large venues, so a tight bar corner and a big function room are both workable. Get in touch with the details of your space and they'll sort out which one fits before anything is locked in.
