Retro Junkies is a cover band for hire in Joondalup, WA.
Formed in 2023, Retro Junkies play retro rock, blues and country out of Joondalup. The list is a run through the 60s onward: Beatles and Rolling Stones early on, then Solomon Burke, Bonnie Raitt, The Searchers, The Kinks, CCR, Tina Turner, Wilson Pickett, Etta James, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Free. They're still adding to it. Nostalgic, easy to sing along to, and pitched at a fun night rather than a serious listen. They carry their own PA if the venue hasn't got one.
The show
A night of songs people know from the last few decades, played by artists whose names still carry weight. Retro Junkies aim it at nostalgia rather than novelty, so the room tends to sing more than it listens. It's an easy fit for a party where you want the music familiar and the mood light.
On the day
The PA question sorts itself out. If your venue already has a system in place, they'll use it. If it hasn't, Retro Junkies carry their own and set it up themselves, so a room with no sound gear is not a reason to rule them out. Worth telling them which of the two applies when you first make contact.
