About
Toonworld is a caricaturist for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Erasers are the enemy. That's the rule at a Toonworld session, because there are no mistakes in cartooning, and the kids get told their pencil is a Sword of Destiny before the drawing even starts. Toonworld runs cartooning and animation workshops and parties across Sydney, pitched at the right skill level for each age group so nobody is bored and nobody is lost. Every child goes home with a 48-page activity book packed with drawing games, the birthday child gets a pack of their own, invitations arrive as a PDF when you book, and all materials are supplied. Simple caricatures of the kids are part of it too. Every Toonworld host is an experienced artist and entertainer, holds a working with children check, and carries public liability cover.
The show
Toonworld sessions are built to stretch what kids can do with a pencil and to send them out believing they can draw. Each age group gets drawing activities matched to their skill level and concentration, so the challenge is real without being out of reach. Then there's the Battle in the Classroom. No erasers, because there are no mistakes, and every child's pencil becomes a Sword of Destiny used to defend the lands against the Evil Rubbix and his rampaging stickman army. Along the way they meet a cast of characters and design heroes of their own. It's creativity with a story wrapped around it, and it pushes kids to think past the obvious answer in front of their friends.
