About
Rinat Zaripov is a caricaturist for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Rinat Zaripov draws your guests, live, while the party carries on around him. The method is quick and deliberately low-fuss: a one-minute live sketch, a photo of the outfit, then the guest goes back to the dance floor while he finishes the portrait on site in watercolour markers and brushes. Everyone collects a finished A4 illustration in a protective sleeve on the way out. The paper is premium watercolour or fine drawing stock, and each sheet can be pre-printed with a couple's names, a logo or event branding. Paints, brushes and sleeves all come with him. He works across weddings, corporate events and festivals from Sydney, and needs a table and a couple of chairs to set up.
Watch
The show
It runs in three quick stages. First a one minute live sketch of the guest, plus a photo of what they're wearing, so nobody is stuck standing still while the party goes on without them. Then Rinat finishes the portrait on site with watercolour markers and brushes while the guest heads back to the dance floor, or the bar, or wherever they'd rather be. Last, they collect the finished A4 illustration in a protective sleeve on their way out and take it home.
