About
Orshi, The Cartoon Girl is a caricaturist for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Guests barely notice the setup. Orshi arrives 15 to 20 minutes early, settles into a corner or roams the room, and starts with whoever volunteers first. After that the queue forms itself. Each cartoon takes about five minutes, singles, couples or a small group on one page, drawn at A4 or A3 in black and white or colour, and everyone walks off with theirs in a clear sleeve. Pre-orders are a separate thing worth knowing about: a welcome poster, seating cards, invitations, a group caricature with a logo or a message on it, or a straight portrait, sized anywhere from A6 up to A2. All that's needed on the day is decent light and three chairs, and Orshi can bring those. Sydney based, and used to weddings, corporate rooms and festivals alike.
The show
Guests barely register the setup. Orshi turns up 15 to 20 minutes early, takes a corner or roams the room, and starts with whoever volunteers first, which is all it takes before a queue builds itself. Each cartoon takes about five minutes, and it can be one person, a couple, or a small group sharing the page. A4 or A3, black and white, or colour if you don't mind the extra couple of minutes. Everyone leaves with theirs in a clear sleeve, which is more than most event entertainment gives people to take home.
On the day
Indoors, the two things that matter are decent light and three chairs, and Orshi can bring her own chairs if the venue is short. Outdoors it's the same three chairs plus something to work under. Shade or a parasol on a sunny day, a sheltered corner or a marquee if it's blowing or raining, because paper and wind don't get on. Evening events need a light source and she can supply that too.
Performance options
Beyond the drawing on the day, artwork can be commissioned ahead of time. A welcome poster on whatever theme you're running, invitation cards, seating cards, or a cartoon or portrait as a gift. Those can be printed on paper, or put onto a t-shirt, a mug or a calendar. Sizes run from A6 up to A2 or something custom, in colour or black and white. Graphic design work is on the list as well, and if you've got an idea that isn't here it's worth asking about.
