About
Live Sketching by Jennie Rutz is a caricaturist for hire in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
Pencil and watercolour on art paper, and the paper carries your event details. Jennie Rutz sketches guests live at A6 or A5, so people leave with something made for them that night rather than something bought in bulk. Book by the person or by the hour, whichever fits. Per person works when you want everyone guaranteed a sketch: she photographs each guest, and anything she can't finish on the night is done later and sent on to you or straight to the guest. Sketches can be scanned so photos and artwork are available to download later. She needs a table at least a metre long and a chair in an undercover area, and she sets up a sign and a tray so finished sketches can be seen and collected. Sunshine Coast based.
Watch
The show
Pencil and watercolour on art paper, drawn while your guests watch. The paper itself is printed with your event details, so the sketch works as a party favour that couldn't have come from anywhere else. Guests tend to hover once they see it happening. You can book by the person or by the hour, depending on whether you want a set number of guests covered or a set stretch of the evening filled.
On the day
A table of at least a metre and a regular height chair, somewhere undercover. Next to the working area she sets out a sign with instructions and a tray, so finished sketches can be displayed and collected without anyone having to ask where theirs went. That's the whole list.
Performance options
Two ways to book. Per person is the one to pick if you want everyone guaranteed a sketch: each guest gets photographed on the night, and any drawing not finished at the event is completed afterwards and sent to you or straight to the guest. Sizes and detail levels change how many people get through in an hour, from quick small outfit sketches to large full colour work. Booking by the hour covers A6 sketches with an ink outline, either outfit colour or full colour. Sketches can be scanned too, so the artwork and photos are there to download later.
