About
Live Caricature Artist, Australia Wide is a caricaturist for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Most guests will tell you they've never had a caricature done before, which is exactly why the queue forms. Three ways to run it. Classic caricatures in black art marker on paper, five to seven minutes each, taken home on the day in a plastic sleeve. Digital caricatures drawn in full colour on a tablet and printed on the spot, around ten minutes each, with a download copy sent afterwards. Or speed caricatures, looser and faster, so more people get through. Your logo can go on every page, and photos of each guest and drawing come back to you for social afterwards. Two hours is the minimum, though three tends to be the sensible booking. Based between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, travelling to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Tasmania and Perth.
Watch
The show
Traditional caricatures take five to seven minutes each, so a queue moves along at a decent clip. The digital ones take around ten minutes because there's colour involved and each print comes off the printer on the spot. Arrival is at least half an hour early for digital events and fifteen minutes for traditional ones, and earlier again if your run sheet needs it. That's the honest maths worth doing before you book: guest numbers divided by minutes per drawing tells you how long you actually need.
On the day
For traditional caricatures, a table and three chairs. One for the artist, two for whoever's being drawn. Somewhere well lit and smoke free, and in full shade if you're outdoors. Digital caricatures want the same table and chairs, plus a power outlet close by and a position where the screen isn't catching glare from a window or a light. Speed caricatures use whichever of those two setups you've chosen, since they're a faster variation rather than a separate thing.
Performance options
Traditional caricatures are black art marker on paper, five to seven minutes a head, and guests walk off with the original in a clear sleeve. Your logo can be printed on every page, and you get digital photos of each guest with their drawing afterwards. Digital caricatures are full colour on a tablet, printed on the spot and mirrored to a second screen if you want onlookers to watch the drawing happen, with a download copy sent through afterwards. Speed caricatures are the looser, faster version of either, and they're the answer when there are more guests than minutes. Art materials are included, and so is travel within the Brisbane and Gold Coast region.
