About
Live Illustration is a caricaturist for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Five to seven minutes a guest, eight to ten finished portraits an hour, and a queue that keeps moving. Live Illustration covers luxury fashion illustration, live sketching and caricature, and it's built for brand activations and retail campaigns as much as for parties. The setup is designed to look good in photographs, and your logo goes onto the artwork itself, so everything guests post afterwards carries it. Three formats: a quick black and white face caricature at five minutes, a full colour portrait with custom styling and costumes at ten, or a family and group portrait taking fifteen to twenty five. Family portraits, group shots and custom character transformations are all on the menu. A small booth with a table, two chairs, power and decent lighting is enough. Sydney based.
Watch
The show
Guests sit down, and about five to seven minutes later they walk off with a finished portrait of themselves. That pace means eight to ten an hour, so the queue keeps moving instead of stalling halfway through your event. You can have traditional watercolour sketching or a looser caricature, whichever suits the crowd. The tabletop is kept clean and tidy on purpose, because at a retail or brand event the artist's corner ends up in a lot of photos. Your logo goes onto the artwork, so the keepsake carries your name home with it.
On the day
A small booth area is enough, with a table and two chairs. Power nearby, and lighting good enough to work under, both help. That's genuinely it. If the drawing runs past a couple of hours, a meal and some water for the artist are appreciated, since live painting is more physically demanding than it looks from the other side of the table.
Performance options
Three formats, sorted by how long you want each guest to sit. The quick face caricature is black and white, five minutes, handed over on the spot. The premium colour portrait takes ten and allows for custom styling and costumes, so it suits VIP guests or anyone you want to make a fuss of. And the family or group portrait takes fifteen to twenty five minutes, covers several people in one piece, and is drawn to whatever brief you give.
