About
Engelbert Jones is a tribute singer for hire in West Footscray, VIC.
Velvet jacket, velvet voice. Engelbert Jones is a one-man tribute to the big crooners, working out of West Footscray and built squarely for morning melodies rooms. The set is Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck first and foremost, with Sinatra, Elvis, Dean Martin and Neil Diamond filling out the rest: It's Not Unusual, Delilah, Green Green Grass of Home, Release Me, Spanish Eyes, Quando Quando Quando, My Way, New York New York, Sway, Sweet Caroline. Small PA and a small lighting rig come along, so the show packs into most venues without fuss. Public liability insurance held.

The show
Velvet-era crooning, delivered by one bloke with a microphone. The show hangs mainly on Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck, then widens out to Sinatra, Elvis, Dean Martin and Neil Diamond as it goes. It's pitched squarely at morning melodies rooms, where the audience knows every word and doesn't mind singing a few of them. So you get the songs done properly rather than sent up. Nothing about it needs a big stage or a long changeover.
On the day
Small PA, small lighting rig, both brought along. That's genuinely the whole list. It means the show fits into function rooms, clubs and community halls without anyone chasing down extra gear, and pack-in and pack-out stay quick.
