Close To You; The Story of Karen Carpenter

Meera Belle sings Karen Carpenter in this retrospective show, and it's a theatrical one rather than a straight covers set: two sets of 45 to 50 minutes, charted for a six piece live band plus two backing vocalists. Twenty of the Carpenters' biggest songs, taken across the decade the duo spent on top of the charts, with Close to You, Top of the World and We've Only Just Begun among them. Karen's voice was cited as an influence by K.D. Lang and Annie Lennox, and her drumming has always been noted alongside it. Reviewers have called Meera Belle elegant and the show a triumph from start to finish.
