About
Quartet With A Twist is a string quartet for hire in Perth, WA.

Watch
The show
For a wedding they'll usually suggest a shape and then let you move it around. Ten to fifteen minutes of background music while guests are arriving and finding seats. One piece for the entrance. Then one or two through the signing, depending on how many people are signing and whether photos are being taken at the same time. One for the exit, though in practice they keep playing until the last guest has drifted out. If you want music running while everyone is congratulating you, that's an easy addition. Every ceremony has its own quirks, so extra moments like a communion can be worked in. They arrive half an hour before they're due to play.
On the day
Three armless chairs. Armrests get in the way of a bow, which is why the detail matters. If they're playing outdoors they'll need shade over the spot, both for the players and for the instruments, since a violin left sitting in Perth sun is not a happy instrument. Beyond that there's nothing to organise.
Performance options
Book them as a string duo, a string trio or the full string quartet. The choice is mostly about how much sound you want filling the space and what suits the room, so a small garden ceremony and a big reception hall pull in different directions. Say where you're holding it and roughly how many guests you're expecting, and they'll tell you which size makes sense.
