About
Rob Nightingale is a singer-songwriter for hire in Perth, WA.
Rob Nightingale is a Perth singer-songwriter and acoustic guitar cover artist, and he's clear-eyed about what background music is for. His job is to make the room feel good without pulling attention away from why everyone is there. The set spans old classics through to recent hits: Fix You, Yellow and The Scientist, Perfect and Thinking Out Loud, Big Jet Plane, Father and Son, Set Fire to the Rain, Sign of the Times. He's happy to learn songs for a specific event. He arrives at least half an hour early to set up, brings everything he needs, and holds a Working with Children Check. Weddings, parties, canapes, Sunday sessions and corporate events.
The show
Rob's view is that background music has a job, and the job is to make the room feel good without stealing attention from why everyone is actually there. He plays songs people know and like, at a level that lets conversation carry on over the top. He's on site at least half an hour before the start to set up and check everything works. Before the day he'll talk through what your event needs so the set arrives already pointed in the right direction.
On the day
He brings the lot along with him. Somewhere to plug in is all he actually needs from your side, plus a bit of cover over the top if the forecast has turned and it's really coming down.
Performance options
Rob is happy to talk through what you need and work out an arrangement that fits it, whether that's a wedding reception or a shorter event booking.
