About
Emjay Angeni is a singer-songwriter for hire in Margaret River, WA.
Margaret River and the wider south west is Emjay Angeni's patch, and the set moves between original songs and covers without either feeling like the filler. Vocals are the drawcard, and the delivery is relaxed enough to sit in a winery courtyard or a busy bar without changing shape. No set breaks, and the audience gets talked to rather than played at. Upbeat, chilled, or a mix, depending on the afternoon. A reliable power point is preferred, though a battery setup is available where there isn't one. Public liability insured.
Watch
The show
One continuous performance, no breaks in it. That's the thing most people notice, because the room never has to reset itself halfway through the afternoon. Emjay chats to the crowd between songs rather than treating them as background, and the set moves between her own songs and covers with no obvious seam. Ask for it upbeat, ask for it kept low and easy, or ask for a bit of both across the booking, and she'll shape it that way. Vocals are the centre of it.
On the day
Somewhere to plug in near where she's playing is the preferred setup, and it's about all that's needed. But if there's no power where you want the music, say so early. Emjay can run a battery-powered rig instead, which covers lawn ceremonies, a spot down the back of a paddock, or anywhere the nearest outlet is a long extension lead away.
