About

FemCee is a singer-songwriter for hire in Monbulk, VIC.

FemCee is a music educator and a performer, and the live rap show is where both halves meet. Nine interactive songs with actions, written by her, covering literacy, mindfulness and social-emotional learning across catchy beats that kids keep humming afterwards. The set includes It's Cool to Be Different, Life Is But a Dream, Shimmy Shapes, Numerical Nonsense, Positive Affirmations, Superfood Heroes and I Love Colors. Kids sing, dance and end up learning without noticing much. It's inclusive and movement-filled, and it runs at schools, parties and community events. Sessions of up to two hours, tailored to what you need, and travel can be arranged. She needs at least two power sources. Public liability and professional indemnity insurance, WWCC, police check and first aid.

The show

Nine songs, all written by FemCee, all with actions the kids do along with her. The beats are proper rap beats and the subjects underneath are literacy, mindfulness and how to get on with other people, so children come away having learned something without anyone announcing a lesson. It's high energy and movement heavy, so expect a room on its feet. And expect the songs to stick: parents tend to report hearing them for days afterwards. The whole thing is built to leave kids with positive habits and the sense that what they do matters.

Performance options

Sessions run up to two hours, and the shape of one gets worked out with you rather than picked off a fixed menu. Tell FemCee the age group, the setting and how long you've got, whether that's a school, a birthday party or a community event, and she'll build the session around it. Travel outside her area can be arranged, so mention where you are when you enquire.
