Mystic Academy is a psychic for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Tarot as a party act, not a séance. Each guest gets a personal mini reading, and the tone follows the group: light and funny if that's the mood, more thoughtful if someone wants to go there. Guests can bring a question or just let the cards do the talking. Mystic Academy has read at the Mind Body Spirit festivals in Sydney and Melbourne, and at witch schools in Melbourne and Edinburgh. Hens nights, birthdays, corporate events. Based in Sydney and travelling out to the Western Suburbs, the Blue Mountains and Bathurst, Wollongong and the Northern Beaches. All that's needed is a quiet corner indoors with a table and two chairs, a cloth, some candles and half an hour beforehand to set the mood.
The show
Every guest gets their own short reading, not a group show. Some want a specific question answered. Others just sit down and see what turns up in the cards, which is often the more interesting version. Mystic Academy pitches the tone to the room, so a hens night gets the laughs and a quieter table gets something more reflective. The setup itself does a lot of work, cloth on the table, cards laid out, candles where they're allowed, all of it calm enough that people who've never done this feel fine sitting down. Birthdays, hens parties, corporate nights, charity events, and it tends to be what guests keep talking about afterwards.
On the day
A small quiet corner is really all this needs. A table with two chairs, or a comfortable nook with enough surface to lay the cards out. Indoors matters, because wind and damp wreck a deck fast. Decent light works, or a power point nearby if you'd like Mystic Academy to bring her own soft lighting. She has a compact table and chair setup of her own if the venue can't provide them. Half an hour before guests arrive is enough to get the cloth down and the space feeling right.
