Push Duo is a musical duo for hire in Adelaide, SA.
Ellen Tefanis has shared a stage with Keith Urban. Josh Biggs has more than thirty years of playing behind him. Together they're PUSH DUO, an Adelaide acoustic act built on her guitar and vocals and his bass and voice, with the two of them trading and blending lines through the night. The material stretches from the sixties to what's charting now: Flame Trees, Big Jet Plane, Drops of Jupiter, Ex's & Oh's, Jolene, I'm On Fire, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, 1000 Miles Away. Requests are welcome. They bring their own PA and light percussion, need reliable power and room for two stools, and for a bigger room it's worth a word beforehand so the sound suits the space.
The show
Two voices, and both of them lead. That's the thing you notice first with PUSH DUO. Ellen sings and plays guitar, Josh sings and plays bass, and the harmonies and duets between them give the sound more body than a single-singer duo gets. Acoustic instruments and light percussion, songs from the sixties right up to current chart material, mostly things a room can sing along with. Requests are welcome, so if there's a song you want in the night, tell them. Weddings, corporate nights and pub rooms all sit comfortably in what they do.
On the day
PUSH DUO carry their own PA, which handles smaller and more intimate rooms without any help from you. Reliable power is the main thing they need from a venue. Space for two people on stools and a single column speaker, and a bit more if you've asked for drums, since a small kit takes its own footprint. Got a bigger room? Have a word with them well beforehand. They may want to bring a larger system so the sound actually fills the space rather than getting lost in it.
Performance options
Bookings are shaped by three things: how long you want them playing, how many sets that breaks into, and how far they're travelling to get to you. Tell them the hours and the venue and they'll shape it from there.
