Common Ground is a musical duo for hire in Canberra, ACT.
Two seasoned players out of Canberra who'll go as quiet or as loud as the night wants. Background music while people eat, then loud and proud when the floor fills. The covers list leans Australian rock and classic radio: Cold Chisel, INXS, Dragon, Jimmy Barnes, The Angels, Australian Crawl, Diesel and The Black Sorrows, alongside Matchbox 20, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits, CCR, Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Luke Combs. Ask for a particular song and they'll often learn it. Gig packages run 3 to 4 hours, events 3 to 5 hours including speeches, and residencies are an option. They bring everything from PA to lights, and need 30 to 45 minutes either side to set up and pack down. Fully insured.
The show
Two players who've done a lot of nights and know the difference between a club room, a pub and a private function. They're easy to deal with, and the song list gets shaped around the occasion if you tell them what you're after. Just ask when you enquire.
On the day
Everything's supplied, PA and lights included. Allow 30 to 45 minutes at each end for setting up and packing down. Where the entry to a venue is awkward, stairs or a long carry, it sits at the longer end of that.
Performance options
Gig bookings usually run 3 to 4 hours. Event bookings sit at 3 to 5 hours, and that figure includes the time speeches eat up. Weddings cover the performance plus your first dance song. A residency is also an option if you want them back regularly, and anything outside those shapes can be talked through.
