About
Paul Andrews is a magician for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Close-up magic that happens at your elbow, not on a stage behind a curtain. Paul Andrews works tables at weddings and corporate functions, does a close-up cabaret for private and exclusive events, and a comedy cabaret for bigger rooms. He also takes MC and compere duties at weddings and functions. Marvin Berglas, President of the Magic Circle, described him as combining hard hitting magic with charming wit and humour. Paul is a member of the Inner Magic Circle. The material runs from mind reading done in genuinely odd ways to the world's oldest deck of cards, with plenty that won't match what you're picturing when someone says magician. All he needs is a small area, reasonable lighting, and a group of people in the mood. Brisbane based.
Watch
On the day
Not much. A small area to work in, lighting that lets people see what's happening, and a group who are in the mood for it. That last one does most of the work. Paul's magic happens close enough to touch, so the room doesn't need a stage or a rig, just people willing to be surprised.
Performance options
Four different things, depending on the room. Strolling magic works tables and groups at weddings, corporate events and private parties. Close-up cabaret suits a seated audience of anywhere from 6 to 60. Comedy cabaret scales right up, from 60 people to 3,000. And separate to the magic, Paul takes on comedy compere, wedding host and corporate presenter duties.
